Implement Android Application for Download and Listening to Audio Podcasts

This bachelor thesis deals with implementation of an Android application for downloading and listening to the audio podcasts. Application is mainly focused on a friendly user interface and integration of the podcast service Audeliver. The first part of this thesis contains theoretical specifications of the platform and analysis of the existing solutions. The second part is concentrated into the actual application design, implementation and testing. The final part reviews the progress of the final application and presents possibilities of the potential development.

Whole work is implemented in programming languages HTML, CSS and JavaScript. The final extension cooperates with service Audeliver.com. This master's thesis is aimed at the problems and issues which are encountered over the development of application for mobile devices. An application for managing and listening of audio podcasts was chosen to be developed. This thesis will guide the reader through general topics and issues of "User Experience" research, its usage and specification on mobile devices and actual design and the implementation of developed application. Results of this work can be used for the development of applications with respect to user centered design.
Mobile App for Receiving Podcasts and Audeliver.com

The aim of this thesis is to implement a mobile application for receiving podcasts from Audeliver service. It is using modern graphic design for user interface based on Material Design. The application provides automatic synchronization of podcasts and downloading of newest episodes. All information about all episodes are  saved into the Realm database. Individual chapters explain theoretical information about podcasts and developing of applications for Android platform. The other chapters describe design, testing, and implementation of the MyPodcasts application.
Application for Audeliver.com Downloading

The aim of this work is to create an application to download and play podcasts. I focused mainly on the simplicity of the application design and creating a pleasant user environment. The application is programmed in Swift and uses modern elements of graphic application interface in iOS. I was able to test the application on users and optimize its hardware requirements. I managed to successfully optimize hardware requirements of the application and expand its use to more Apple devices. The benefit of this work is new knowledge of application development, but also respect for human interface guidelines. Since the app uses modern language and brings modern means of implementation, its main benefit is that it shows the direction the application development is headed.
Public radio in the Czech Republic, its current and future position in society from the perspective of millenials

This thesis deals with the analysis of listening to public radio in the Czech Republic among millennials. It wants to find out their listening habits and behaviour, their motivation for listening and their perception of the current position and future role of public radio in society. The theoretical part of the thesis explains the basic concepts that are essential for the thesis, introduces the methodology and content of the whole thesis, and also presents the theoretical approaches of cultural studies on which the thesis is based. These are mainly based on the concept of active audience, the theory of selectivity and the findings of the so-called Birmingham School. It briefly describes the historical development and role of radio in the Czech Republic and its current form. In the practical part of the thesis, it interprets its own empirical research, what it consists of, how it was conducted and what its conclusions are. This was carried out using a qualitative method and in-depth interviews with twelve respondents, asking twenty open-ended questions that explored participants' listening, motivations and perceptions of Czech public radio. Presentation of the Czech Presidency 2022 in the Council of the EU in the selected political podcasts

The research is of interest in the media presentation of the second presidency of the Czech Republic in the Council of the European Union in selected Czech podcasts. Special attention is paid to podcasts focusing directly on events in the European Union during the Czech Presidency in the second half of 2022. Specifically, the thesis analyses the podcast of Czech radio Český rozhlas Bruselské chlebíčky, the podcast of the Deník.cz Evropa pro Čechy and the podcast of the news website Euractiv.cz Europa zblízka. It focuses on media coverage of podcast topics and actors and deals generally with the structure and processing of episodes of individual media with an emphasis on the specifics of the media format. It also offers a comprehensive overview of podcasting and provides basic information about the European Union and the Presidency. Generation Z czech podcasters

The bachelor thesis Czech Generation Z podcasters deals with podcasting and Czech Generation Z podcasters. In the theoretical part, the phenomenon of podcasting is defined, followed by a summary of the history and podcasting development abroad with an emphasis on the United States and the Czech Republic. The theoretical part also introduces the basic characteristics of Generation Z and the relationship of this generation to media use and podcasting. The methodological section presents the main research questions that explore the motivations of Czech Generation Z podcasters to start podcasting, motivations for continuing with podcasting as well as aspects of the creation that these creators evaluate positively and negatively. Other behaviors of the Czech Generation Z podcast creators in the online media space are also examined. The bachelor thesis is based on qualitative research conducted in the form of semi-structured interviews with 14 participants The interviews are analysed using thematic analysis. The Linguistic Analysis of Selected Podcasts

This bachelor thesis deals with a relatively new phenomenon of the journalistic genre - the podcast. The aim of the work is to determine its language specifics. In the theoretical part, the podcast, as a new genre, is introduced and specified. Related terms are defined in this part too. Furthermore, selected podcasts are introduced in this section. The practical part is central to the thesis. It is based on linguistic analysis of specific speeches. The analysis focuses mainly on linguistic variations, peculiarities and shortcomings. For the best possible clarity, it is divided into subchapters according to linguistic levels. After the pilot survey podcasts that can be classified as educational were selected for the bachelor's thesis. Despite their similarity, they are diverse. In addition to the analysis itself, the result of the thesis is an evaluation of typical features, placing in a theoretical framework and drawing a conclusion in which the results of the research are confronted with hypotheses.
